Change contracts but keep same provider?

I like saving money with my mobile phone contracts and for my current contract I used a cashback deal with Phones4u which has worked really well. Anyway, the contract is due up soon and then obviously the monthly cost will be very high (£35) which I won't pay but I'd like to remain on the same provider (o2). So my question is this: Can I get a PAYG deal for a week or so - transfer my current number to that - then rejoin o2 and gain whatever benefits are around at the time i.e. a cashback deal?

Any help would be much appreciated.

Great stuff - I thought that would be the case but just wanted to make sure. Thanks.
