The best policy the Tories could introduce is a proper married couples allowance

Seriously though, would anyone in their right mind, or not blinded by religion (same thing really), ever actually commit their whole life to someone without actually living with them beforehand?0

Not that easy though if you go the mail order route. Visas can be tricky, and some of these girls have been taken that way before iykwim. So, for a mate of mine, it was mail order, couple of phone calls, visit to the parents home in Indonesia, married in Bali and then home to Chipping Norton. He told the locals she was Welsh rather than have to do the whole explanation thing.
I don't think I could go through the shame of that situation. Just imagine people thinking you'd married a Welsh girl.0 -
No, the only people I think I've seen a picture of on here is Graham Devon and Brodders. Which really is a shame.
So you sent her pictures of your wife? She could be one of those bunny boiler types, en-route to do away with wife as we speak.
She does seem to have the hots for you.0 -

You know when you asked me ''who'', cleaver? Him.
afriend, why so keen to see a photo of me? I don't see you asking mewbie?
I would send cleaver a photo of me, because I like him LIKE A LITTLE BROTHER, but have the same issues with a photo as when you asked. I also think I'd like Mrs C. She puts up with Cleaver, which is pretty cool.

It was in context, rather than: "Hi Lostinrates. Thought you would like 24 pictures of my wife. Some are clothed, some not so much. Hope you enjoy. Lots of love, Cleaver."0 -

There are actually a few men in my rural idle who have bought themselves brides from unpronouncable places.
It is unutterably creepy. I do not, even in my darkest moments, want to think about their motivation.
However, I console myself with the fact that within a few years the poor women have learned the language, gotten themselves a support network and a job in Tescos and escape. It always cheers me up when that happens.Retail is the only therapy that works0 -

Mewbie doesn't give anything away, like talking to a brick wall with a good sense of humour.
In the past you have said that you would drive hundreds of miles to help internet friends in trouble. Being inquisitive I wanted to know whether there's truth behind it. If you can't send someone your photo (not me) there's probably not much chance you'd turn up on their doorstep?
I simply wanted to check the boards mother hen was a mother hen IYKWIM?
Sincere apologies if I have offended you. Sometimes I do the whole BBC hard-talk difficult questions thing.0 -

I have me and I have a car, I don't have a photo on this PC, nor do I particularly fancy taking one. I am currently helping a woman on another board via pm/email. Cleaver has my email address, a contact address, and my name, as defining as a photo really,..if he were in trouble and I were on my way I suppose I'd give him my numberplate and mobile number (infact, if he had an email for me I might have forgotten to remove signiture so he might have my mobile) I have previously driven to other internet friends in trouble who have become real life friends. , I would gladly meet with some people from this board.
Oh, I HAVE, I had supper with someone who used to post here, seeing him again in November, I think.
And FC is coming for a horse riding lesson sometime.

ETA: also had plans to meet with Pobby and PN but dh made me cancel, after the NDG thing. He's a bit edgy about it all.0 -

I though I was the board something else, but very happy to be board mother hen, and yes, if need I'd go to a chum. TBH, I think most people have someone closer to them. I offered to be a flu friend to someone here who said they didn't need one. I warned them it would take me a couple of hours to get to them.
not offended. A bit...perplexed, really. Questions aren't difficult
I am, by nature, perhaps a little more cynical than most.
My good opinion is rarely bestowed and therefore more difficult to earn.0 -

That's a great shame, but I'm sure we'll both survive.
I think it pays to be cynical on the internet. however, with being too wary in life one becomes isolated, there is always the danger that those you ''feel'' comfortble with and communicate with privately re not who they appear to beI doubtless get the balance wrong often, but we can only do our best.
