OMG the cheek of some people, you have done the right thing over this, I have been following your recent posts and hope that this new property works out for you.
Having moved 2 weeks ago myself after lots of hassle with the vendors, I hope that everything works out for you in the end, which i'm sure it will!!0 -
Can you post a link to the house that you have pulled out on (if available online), so at least everyone on this forum will know to stay clear!
So sorry for your awful experience, and good luck in the future.0 -
Hi Maggie, glad to hear you're about to pull out as I was going to post a huge WALK in big red letters for you to see.Pants0

So I feel much less guilty about pulling out of the purchase now!
Thanks for all the support,

What a darn cheek! I'm assuming the drains surveyor told him in no uncertain terms that he most certainly would be passing on all the information.
When we bought our house, you know the problem with the loft and how we had to re-negotiate with very difficult vendors. Even their EA was thoroughly fed up with them and wished they would go to another agent! We said if there wasn't a reduction to take into account the cost of making the loft safe then we would walk. The EA also told them that now it had come to light that the loft was dangerous then it had to be pointed out to any future interested parties. Not sure if that was true or tactics, but the vendors' solicitor eventually persuaded them that it was in their best interest to reduce the price. I'm just wondering if anything like this, once it becomes known via a survey, then the EA is obliged to mention it. Hopefully yes. I can't remember what has to go on all the forms, and when we bought our house the HIP wasn't in place so not sure if it would have to go in there.0
