Daft question! Re Grill pan! (But only if you know the answer!)

We are due to move house in just over a week.

Do we leave the grill pan in the oven (built in one!) or do we take it with us? (It came with the oven which makes we think I should leave it).

What is normal practise?

Thanks in advance!

Jenny

    There are no daft questions!

I think if it came with the oven and you've listed the oven as a fixture then you should leave it.

Unless it's in the fixtures and fittings list, you don't have to leave it. However, aren't you likely to have a new grill pan when you move?

Ours came without a grill pan as it happens, and lightbulbs and a fireplace etc etc. Obviously since we put in a low offer she was a wee bit bitter but we just think she was silly. Light bulbs !!!!!!.
I'll have some cheese please, bob.
  • If you could leave it due to having one at your new place I think that would be good. I bought a new cooker from comet or somewhere and it never came with one, I wasn't a happy bunny and the cheapest I've seen is in Boyes for about £8.. so I use a cooling rack and tray!!

Thanks to both of you for the quick replies.

The house we're buying has a built in oven, but we also have got the house for £20k less than asking price, so I think she may also be a bit bitter. (They have already taken some light fittings and all curtain poles!)

I think I will leave mine in the oven when we move... good ecuse to get a new one if our vendors take theirs!!

    Thanks again

Personally I think you should leave the grill pan. Not sure what the legal take on this is but I think you should leave it to be fair to your buyers. :-)
  • I think you should leave it - after all your new oven may not be the same size as the old one!

Jenny, that's nice of you to leave it - I'm sure your buyers will be happy! :A

We've got a similar thing with the house we're trying to buy (though I'm thinking of walking at the mo), have posted about it here. Bitter is just the way we feel about the way vendor is treating us!

If you're leaving the oven leave the grill pan.

Surely one would leave the grill pan as that is how you would like to be treated by any seller you bought a house off? Ain't it the British way be be decent & fair??

    Cheers!
