Power/high volume ebay sellers - how're your sales doing?

Hi,

I'm desperate to know how my fellow power or high volume sellers are getting on with the sales this week?

Since the start of October I've had the worst sales EVER. It's extremely disheartening, especially as in previous years October is whe it starts to get mega busy in the run up to Christmas.

Over the last 24 hours I've sold not a single thing - even on traditional 'slow' days such as Christmas Day I've sold more than that!

On the UK ebay site I'm not a TRS (but very close to being so) but on the .com site, where I host about a third of my items, I am a TSR (Top Rated Seller).

Just what is going on?!?! Thankfully I'm in the process of setting my own website up so I've got a promising distraction but things are not good!

My sales have increased over the past week. I'm actually doing better than I have in months

Squee, do you think it's anything to do with the "best match" changes at the end of September?

I haven't sold anything in the past 2 weeks  I'm not a PS though just a small sideline, but I was selling 20 items a week up until September then they just stopped pretty much.

My business sales are about what I would expect, although once again my current line is coming to an end so I am winding down looking for another. My private sales though are going up all the time, my sons have over £100 each put aside to pay for Christmas presents just from old junk they would otherwise have thrown away.

Sorry Squee, but we're having a great month. Have you checked there aren't new competitiors in your market?

Thanks for your responses everyone, genuinely glad that things are going well for some of you :) (apart from you Sequence - maybe it's just people with the letters 's q u e' in their names that are suffering ;) )

Sandiep - it could be due to Best Match I guess. I stopped trying to figure that particular ebay feature out a long while ago!

Dave - there's always a few newcomers coming and going in my line of sales but there's no one at the moment who I think would have taken all of my sales. Thankfully I have a high-ish feedback amount (2000 + and 100%) and plenty of past sales which buyers tend to favour.

I did have a phone call this morning from ebay reminding me to revise my listing to include turnaround times etc so perhaps once I've done that my sales will pick up again....

Cheers again for the responses all :)

Mine have been tap-on/tap-off for about 6 weeks now, some days it's non-stop, then maybe £10 for the next two days.

There has been a lot of meddling with the search functionality which as usual has caused chaos for sellers.

I've definitely suffered with the search changes although things have picked up the last few days (hopefully that's not tempting fate).

Have us sellers been told how these new search changes work?

Don't be daft, that would imply a thought process among senior ebay staff that I think is outside their job description.
