Can anyone help me with car insurance for my Mum who is 87? She has plenty of no claims but it is still expensive. She has no convictions or claims.

I don't know, but the age may be the reason?

Pop over to the Motoring Board and post your question there as well, you might get a better response. Here is the link

I do my old dads (77) insurance and normally get a good result using the staged approach suggested on the main site so that should be your first port of call.

It does get harder once they are over 70, he very very occasionally used to use my car so I used to have him as a driver on mine (Group 20 S4) but once he hit 70 it got very hard/expensive (lots wouldn’t quote, rest wanted +300-400%) so I stopped.

On his own car (low value slow Fiesta) I still get the refusal to quote problem but enough will quote so he ends up paying £100-150 per year which normally comes down below £100 thanks to quidco.

    Hi Di

    What do you consider expensive?

What's the best quote you have had so far?

    Have you tried SAGA?

My mum is 88 and the only firm I could get to insure her was Saga. I thought a little over £400 including breakdown cover was fair enough.

    This is for a 2002 Peugeot 207.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
