I love Poundshops - Crafty Poundshop Ideas Here

:rudolf:I love Poundshops and 99p shops!:rudolf:
Give me Harrods or Poundland - and I know what I would choose!
You never know what you are going to find, but my golden rule is "Buy it when you see it " cos you will probably never see it again.
I spend ages in them looking at things very very carefully, dismissing their obvious use, and trying to see what else I can do with them in a crafty way .....
If I am stuck for ideas I look at the American websites dedicated to crafts that can be made using stuff from their Dollar Stores (our poundshop equivelent), some of the ideas are brilliant.
So I thought I would start a thread where we could tell of our latest poundshop finds and share our ideas of what we have or what we are going to do with them ......
OK ....... 50 wooden pegs for £1 (from Poundworld)
Add small lengths of self adhesive ribbon and decorate with gems, buttons etc. add small magnets on the back - hey presto, fridge magnet note holders.
:xmassmileFor Christmas - decorate with red/green/silver/gold/metallic ribbons and festive embellishments - a length of coloured string - and hang up your Christmas cards.
Pair of Christmas socks - why not clip them together with a festive peg?:santa2:
Christmas stocking hanger:snow_laug
Clip money envelopes to Christmas tree with another festive peg!:santa2:

Some fabby ideas there, i shall be visiting the £ shop with new eyes tommorrow.
I have a totally child free day and loads of new inspiration.
Forgot to add my idea!
A4 photo / certificate frames.
ink pad from craft shop bargain bucket.
plain card - any colour you like
poem from here: http://www.dltk-holidays.com/dad/mhandprintalt.html
(if your a little bit more crafty you can use embossing powder and a heat gun to add extra depth to the handprints but i have found that you loose a lot of the detail of the fingerprints and wrinkles)
Print of the poem to one side of the card.
Get your child to make a handprint on the otherside.
Place in photoframe - hey presto cheap cute pressie.
My DD creche is charging £12 for a company to come in and do these - granted the creche makes a little commision but it's still a silly price to pay when i can do it for about £1.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
:T fortune with those less fortunate :T
:T than themselves - you know who you are!:T0 -

Fantastic idea for a thread - thankyou :T
Can you give us any of the links for the websites dedicated to crafts made using stuff from Dollar stores? I'd love to have a look - they sound as they might be a good source for us all.
Thank you very much

I used a progaram on the computer, i think i put the whole design into powerpoint, the copied it to word to alter the size properly.
But if you dont have powerpoint there are loads of nice borders albeit simple ones in word itself.
Just grabbed some more frames today and some of those glass candy jars, so i can make sock candy. Ie a pair of funky socks stuffed in a jar with a nice label on.:TIs thankful to those who have shared their :T
