O2 Broadband installation

Hi, just thought I'd let people know about my o2 broadband installation, just incase it helps someone.
Ordered O2 on 25th Sept
Received Mac code from AOL on 28th Sept
O2 replied with installation date of 6th Oct
Received new router etc on 30th Sept
Line switched over on 6th Oct, AOL switched off about 10am, O2 switched on about 2.30pm
Followed O2 installation CD, really helpful. Only one issue where it asked me for my account password, which turns out was the user account password for my macbook and nothing to do with my broadband, but this was quickly sorted after a phone call to the helpline. (Call centre is around the corner from my house, I would have been quicker walking there than waiting in the queue on the phone)
Broadband is up and running on both computers in the house.
I'm supposed to get 17Mb connection, but so far the best I can get is 11.7Mb connection.

it can take up to 2 weeks for your line to sync so the speed you're getting now might not be your actual speed.
Try the speed tester from thinkbroadband

so far this has been the most accurate tester I have come across0 -
