can you get laptops without a operating system on, because that could save me some money...
at the moment the best deals i can find are on ebay (if there are in fact deals and not scams)0 -
Ebuyer do one that comes with Linux, that is about £70 cheaper then buying it with XP.0

I bought a laptop off ebay, it was about 2 years old and it was ok.
I checked the feedback of the seller and went and collected it in person.0 -
Dell are doing a free shipping and double memory (1024mb) deal on at the mo. If you change the support services option it takes the price down to 549 or lower depending on the screen size0

How come if, in effect, they are the same company, and PC World "wont be beaten on price" I have just bought the same model laptop from Currys as one that is a full £100 dearer at PC World?!
The Packard Bell R1938 has
80GB HD
1024 RAM
1.6O Ghz
£499 in Currys
£599 in PC World
in fact, the model below this, in PC world, with far less specs, is £479!!
Cheek!
PS Just seen that Dixons is also doing it at the cheaper price.

The above is on the pc world site and seems a good buy for someone with basic needs, although it does seem to have a fairly decent graphics card (but I'm no buff). Seems a lot cheaper than elsewhere - is sold out on currys at £499.
Its on the pc world site under clearance, this should be the link
