    have a look at this, http://www.comet.co.uk/comet/html/cache/572_314315.html

    * Processor speed: 1.66 GHz
    * Processor: Intel Centrino Duo
    * Screen size and type: 15.4" brightwidescreen
    * Storage (hard drive): 80 GB
    * Memory (RAM): 1024 Mb
    * Records DVDs (maximum): 8x
    Graphics 512MB ATI1300 dynamic

    It's only £19 more Belfastgal, and if you think you may get interested in video, gaming or editing, then it's probably worth it.

    And even if you don't, it's duo processor with bigger ram, which is always a good thing.

    lol espresso. If you have a slow processor, it cannot use loads of ram. There is no point having tons of ram if your processor cannot utilize it. And, another thing, most laptops in dominus' price range have 512.

    and btw, GCSE ICT doesnt even touch hardware bar maybe the component names.

    Espresso, to be quite frank this a little more than pathetic, so from now on, i'm just going to ignore your posts, do what you want, it really doesnt bother me.

    "Am I Bothered....." :rotfl:

    Just a reminder to those thinking of buying a laptop from Comet you can get a 13% discount if you get yourslef a virgin credit card and order vouchers through the virgin members shop. These have to be used instore though - but i have heard people can sometimes haggle the online price in a comet store as well.:money:

    sigh, the size of processor does not determine how much ram is used.

    But Chris is on a different planet to the rest of us!

    :rolleyes:

    I don't care what he thinks to be the case, but giving incorrect advice to others is not helpful.

    not wanting to drag out the argument, but anyone who is after a laptop, please ignore what Lord_Chris is saying it is absolute rubbish, just plain wrong.

    More RAM means less disk access. Disk access is the slowest part of a computer so you don't want it. Over a certain amount is not used, but this is DEFINATELY not above 512k! In fact it that statement made me chuckle, so thanks for brightening up my day Lord_Chris.

    well so long as you're gonna ignore him, I'll be happy to tell you that you're talking absolute cr*p.
    I was gonna leave this argument well alone, but I hate seeing people handing out complete mis-information and pretending like they know what they're talking about :(

    as regards mem - cpu, you just don't seem to know what you're talking about at all.
