The Great 'Cheapest Decent Laptop' Hunt
Comments
-
Hi I am looking to buy a laptop for my daughters birthday next week, I am such a technophobe that I really don't have a clue what the best one to get it. Would it be possible if someone could maybe recommend one for me. She needs this to complete homework, and general surfing. It also has to have a webcam. My budget is £350- £400.
Many thanks0 -
Go for that Carphone warehouse one (Inspiron 17). If you go through quidco it is £313 (£329 without quidco)
The Same Model direct from Dell was £399 last time I looked.
It is a perfectly capable laptop (I didn't notice any fee upgrades to Win7 though if it is important to you)0 -

This looks to be the bargain of the week available from Tesco for £399 and comes with the new Windows 7 already installed:

a good price for a toshiba, worth checking their site though as they've been offering £50 cash back on selected models. If your not fussy about brand you can probably get a quicker processor for the money.0 -
I've just found this on the Car phone website http://www.carphonewarehouse.com/buy/DELL_STUDIO#bottom
My Ds wanted a blue one and this is cheaper than the black one.
It has 100 GB less hard drive and 1BG less of memory than the one on the Dell site that is 499.00.
Is the one at CPW okay?0 -
Erm, does anyone know what has happened to the Inspiron 17 offer from CPW? That deal was cracking, I'm after a laptop for my dads birthday.
I think they realised what a steal that offer was :S0 -
i think it was a deal of the week, like the one i posted above.0
