The Great 'Cheapest Decent Laptop' Hunt

From their 'about me' page:
Refurbished Products Refurbished products are all 100% OK! In fact, they represent amazing value for money, especially as we offer all our refurbished products with a full ONE YEAR warranty.
These products may be classed as refurbished for a number of reasons:- They may have been previously sold, and subsequently returned to one of our parent stores and not put back on sale for cosmetic packaging reasons. This is often as little as a broken seal.
- Alternatively, they may simply have incurred a minor amount of cosmetic packaging damage during handling in the day to day running of our business.
- Some items may also have been returned to our parentstores with a reported fault or where a customer had difficulty in using.
Not quite the same as you found really.

I am looking to buy a new laptop. Budget is around £350 region. I was looking at the HP 550 on ebuyer which is now not available anymore. Other recommendations? Would probably need them quite soon.
Thanks in advance.0 -

ah, missed that myself. 2 questions:
1. Is it easy to install windows myself?
2. Its an unbranded laptop, so would be as good as a normal toshiba or acer or sony?0 -
It's not difficult to install Windows from disk but you'll have to buy it first.
Alternatively a linux distro like Ubuntu would do very nicely and is free ... but you did say Windows.:think:0 -
