More RAM (though easy to upgrade RAM in other)
BluRay disc drive
Faster processor
Better graphics card
Cheaper
Personally I'd choose the second, getting more for your money as RAM can be quickly and cheaply upgraded so apart from that the only real advantage the first has is a BluRay disc drive and are you really likely to be watching BluRay films on your laptop.0 -
hi folks
I'm looking for a decent gaming laptop but can't spend too much.
I've been looking at the Acer Aspire 4920 Gemstone Laptop
http://www.acerdirect.co.uk/Acer_Aspire_4920_Gemstone_Laptop_LX.AKU0X.063/version.asp
but it's a bit on the expensive side for my budget.
Does anyone have any recommendations?0 -

The second laptop in the post above yours is one of the cheapest games capable laptops I've seen lately (£449), though may still struggle slightly with the more intensive modern games.0 -

Thanks for that. Had thought probably the 2nd one. Do you think 2gb RAM will be ok to start with?0 -

For future reference you can make ordering the right type of RAM easy by using the memory scanner at Crucial which will pick for you exactly the right memory for the computer it is run on:

Yeah 2GB is fine and as I said its usually easy, and cheap, enough to upgrade in future if needs be.

Thanks for all of your help.
Do you mean that if I put the laptop model number in this website it will pick the correct upgraded memory for it? How easy is it to fit?
Does it make it confusing that there are different version of the Acer 5920g on the market?0 -
