I am after a laptop budget max £500 cheaper the better. Doing degree in photography so needs to have good memory though I will use an external hard drive also. Needs to be mobile so 15" would be better than 17". Prefer a good processor and decent make.

Can anyone assist. Seen a HP at ebuyer for £399 but its AMD Processor also Play.com have a Sony Vaio for the same money. Would it be wiser to pay more for a Dell?

  • I'm looking at this Acer model https://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?quicklinx=57GY
Any opinions would be apprecciated. It's mainly for internet use, wp and photo editing. I know it's not got a huge hd, but that wouldn't be a problem, as I have plenty storage on the pc, and also an external 250gb hd.

    Just seen this at morgan:

    http://www.morgancomputers.co.uk/shop/detail.asp?ProductID=4412&CategoryID=11&SubCategoryID=228

what do people think? my daughter wants a lappy for xmas, willing to spend £300 upwards aiming to get something decent that will last her a few years and would run sims2. Would go up as far as £450 myabe if the bang per buck justified it.

Only 1gb memory, but can be upgraded, although only to 2gb according to crucial. Some review sites seem to suggest a 2 yr warranty is incl by msi too.
not really interested in the swarovski stuff, just seems to have a decent proccessor and decent graphics for the price?

Is this the same company? Has anyone bought from them and can recommend them or should I pay £30 more and buy from PC World?
  • Hi Everyone,
Now that Apple has just launched new versions of their laptops, does anyone know what outlets are discounting the previous models (of MacBook Pro specifically)?
    Cheers.

it might be worthwhile comparing the new macbook with the old macbook pro. You might find that the new macbook is faster and cheaper than the old pro even after a discount??

    Just a thought.

    Hi

Can anyone steer me towards a sub £300 15" lappy with 2GB memory and preferably a 6 cell battery in order to keep the wife out of my study!

    Many thanks in advance
