in Water bills
I live in Ockendon and pay by DD each month
£25.02 - Anglican Water
£14.85 - Essex & Suffolk Water
Firstly is this correct? My parents only pay 1 water company from what I am aware. I am unmetered.
Second question is that I dont really understand my water boiler, it has 2 switches to turn the water on, and never really sure which one to pick. I would like to have the water on a timer really - is this possible? If so who do I contact?
thanks:beer:

Lots of properties(particularly on the border of an area) pay their water to one company(Anglia) and Sewerage to another(Essex and Suffolk).
By switches on the water boiler I assume you mean Immersion heaters on your Hot water tank??
Often there are 2 immersion heaters on a HW tank. One just heats the top of the tank and provides enough for washing/shaving, washing up etc. The other heats the whole tank for when you want baths.
You can get a timer for these immersion heaters but an electrician should fit them.0 -

Ours has a switch for the central heating and the other is for the hot water is this what you mean ?0 -
No i dont have central heating, both water switches.
If for example the water stopped heating or was heating slowly who do i contact? a private electrition?Just have a little faith0 -

It appears those 2 'water switches' are immersion heaters.
As said above one just heats the top of the tank and provides enough for washing/shaving, washing up etc. The other heats the whole tank for when you want baths.
If they are faulty, they won't heat at all - they 'won't heat slowly'
Are you by any chance on an Economy 7 electricity tariff? If so some immersion heaters are wired so they only come on at night during the cheap rate electricity.0 -
the switches are labelled:
cheap night units
day units
So which ones mean what?
