Removing the smell of curry from a property - how difficult?

    When I was viewing houses earlier this year there was one house where the kitchen smelt of stale curry, it was really bad and the house is still on the market now. From the info the estate agent gave me, the vendor was a single guy who travelled alot. You would have thought he would notice the strong stale smell in the kitchen every time he returned home from a trip. Well, the smell in the kitchen put me off buying the place and I suspect that is what is putting other buyers off too. Mind you, I did'nt tell the estate agent that I wasn't interested because the house stunk, so I probably haven't helped much.
