How many peoples of different races and cultures have you conducted business with Carol? Whilst we are all similar we are different.

To add I do not find saying a religion is known for finance and business is racist.

I don't think Thrugelmir meant anything by it other than a what the person did fitted fitted a sterotype.

I think it was as racist as saying northerns are tight. :)

so sterotyping not racism in my mind.

I should imagine there will be a fair number of student loans going down with those bankruptcies.
BTW I once knew someone who couldn't afford to go bankrupt

Exactly. My experience has taught me that we are all different. And that includes people who happen to share the same religion, skin colour, race etc.

Genuinely shocked. You seem an intelligent poster - shocking how these attitudes can lie inside even seemingly intelligent people.

In no way was my post intended to be offensive. So please accept my apology.

Sorry, Thrugelmir related a story of a member of a as yet unnamed religion - I'd love to know which one - who committed fraud on a grand scale, which Thrugelmir appeared to be implying was in some way related to his religion.

    How is that not racist?

Nothing wrong with the original story, but the religious reference at the end appeared to have been put in as some kind of humourous 'punchline', much as one might expect a racist to end a story about a black man committing a crime with some equally 'hilarious' punchline. It's just not relevant. Sorry.

EDIT: Just seen your apology - it's not for me to accept it or otherwise, really, but point noted, Thrugelmir.

Is that so, I certainly didn't know that.

I'm sure that's true - there have been posters on here who've been kicked off for racist posts, I believe, though I haven't seen the threads.

Easy to say that something's not offensive if it's not directed at you - members of the mystery religion, say, might disagree.
