At least 2 out of 3 people declared bankrupt are not home owners.

btw it's a bit cliquey and backslapping over on the br threads. just got the forum equivalent of mob lynching for suggesting self-pity in the face of having to downgrade a car might not be the best way to go....

Like a lot of situations in life until you've had first hand personal experience its not possible to know how you would cope. The board is more than likely very supportive to every poster. Kicking someone when they are down does little. If they are operating within the laws of this country then thats ok with me. If you want to change society campaign to change the law.0 -
Is that relevant?
Why did you mention it now?
Which religious faith?
For many centuries a section of society have been successful business people. Personally I have nearly always found them very shrewd, hard nosed, commercially aware and most certainly honest. In the tale I related commercially aware was probably the key point, knew the law inside out.0 -

who said anything about kicking? Those who will not reason, are bigots, those who cannot, are fools, and those who dare not, are slaves. - Lord Byron0 -
BTW, Really, you're definitely wrong re bankrupts and houses - being neither bankrupt nor owning a house, I don't know the details, but as others on here have pointed out, becoming bankrupt in no way means you lose the house.
In fact, I would have thought there was far more incentive for non-homeowners to avoid bankruptcy - the blot on their credit file would preclude them from buying a house, among other things.
Whereas if you already own a house, that doesn't apply.
Just a thought.0 -

I'm finding this phenomenally racist. Am I the only one?
Which religious faith, Thrugelmir? Why not spit it out?
Do you have any more delightful racial steretypes to share? Any bloodthirsty Moslems, stupid Irish etc?
I mean why stop at one - you could offend a whole bunch.0 -

How many peoples of different races and cultures have you conducted business with Carol? Whilst we are all similar we are different.0 -

The only reason to go bankrupt if you have a house seems to be if you have no equity.
My thought is people are irresponsible with money generally and it is not a higher moral high ground to be an owner or non owner.
Both have there share of people who over do it.
As for the bold bit it is equally the same for a home owner, what happens at re-mortgage time when you are bankrupt??? I would not say credit is cheap.
so in a years time i presume we should see an increase in repos!!!
Personally I think there are lots of people who have over spent, trying to shift it all on to home owners (like the board has in the past) is just wrong.
I think the statistics show a healthy proportion have got to be non home owners for reasons talked about on this thread (EG people would sell up etc but we are not seeing an increase of houses to market)0 -

Exactly. My experience has taught me that we are all different. And that includes people who happen to share the same religion, skin colour, race etc.
Genuinely shocked. You seem an intelligent poster - shocking how these attitudes can lie inside even seemingly intelligent people.
I note you still don't name the ethnic group you're referring to - is that because to do so would be to make your racism a bit too blatant even for you?0
