The "struggling to sell" is particularily ironic, if they click the ":number: sold" bit under my seller details, they'll see we've sold 25 of them in the last 16 and a bit days, and a near identical item has sold another 15 in the same time period (blame ebay's glitchy new Best match system for needing 2 near-identical listings

Very cheeky!!I had an auction a few weeks back, bid upto £20 with 2 days left and 15 watchers. Had someone offer me £5 to end the auction early...why would I do that?!?!?
There's offers, and there's just being plain daft!
With best offer I normally offer 10-20% under BIN price.
Some people really have some nerve.0 -
I had one bloke offer me £5 on a £35 BIN/Best offer. It got rejected automatically, why would I sell for £5? It eventually sold for the full price2011 Sealed Pot Challenge #1238 hoping for £250 ~ saved £743.32

Just a thought - is it a mobile phone you are selling, and the user is in Scotland?
The reason i ask is that it is almost word for word the same as a question I had last month. I had 5 mobile phones listed at £40 inc P&P, and he offered me £20 for 2 + £5 P&P. Again, he said I would struggle to sell them at that Price as Argos had them at £20. Argos used to have them at £20, but they were discontinued, and no longer in stock.
He sent the same question every day for a week, by which time they had all sold for £40 - and then I finally replied with, yeah no problem, just use the best offer option the listing. That had ended. And didn't have Best Offer anyway...
It's the p1key mentality of them that really grates me. It's as if they think they are doing me a favour by lifting my leg. I'm running a business, not a charity.i think often people start low to find the auto reject level
same as going back through FB to find out what the seller took before for ongoing listings

I always offer very low offers on an item. Why have an offer function if your going to get all worked up when people make offers? I've won plenty of items with low offers.
If you don't want the trouble of rejecting low offers then set a minimum auto reject.
Some sellers eh!0 -
lol i saw roy chubby brown tickets, for collection only, for bin/best offer at face value (40.00) it was the day before the gig, and i put in an offer of 25.00, he waited till the following morning then rejected, i went to venue direct (as venue was actually closer than he was), and bought them for 35.00, and his item ended unsold. Thatll teach people for rejecting offers! Haha
I know my offer was very low, but he would have atleast got some of his money back, wasnt like he was making a living from it!10k in 2010 - £350.77 :beer:0 -
I have had some very low offers accepted recently. On Sunday I spent most of the day emailing back and forth to someone who wanted to pay a silly amount for something I was selling. He must have been bored and I had nothing else to do. Eventually told him to come and collect it( stay in the far north of Scotland :rotfl:) and he could stay for tea. Never heard of hime again.

In the case of teh OP and I, both "offers" were made using the Ask Seller Question option, and my listings for the phone did not have the Best Offer option available for buyers.
Besides, there is at most only 3 opportunities to make a best offer, so if they are auto rejected for being too low, the sale is lost completely.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
