Ludicrous buyer offers.

I know it's said that if you don't ask, you don't get, but I've just been asked this
We charge £11.70 including P+P for the item, so why the bloody hell does he expect we'll sell him one for full price, then another for just 30p (and make a loss on the postage at the same time)? :rolleyes:Would you accept £12 for 2 x item number + combined postage?

:rotfl:There's trying to get a bargain, and then there's just annoying the seller to the point that they won't sell to you at all!! The person has some cheek, you have to admit!"I believe that everything happens for a reason. People change so that you can learn to let go, things go wrong so that you appreciate them when they're right, you believe lies so you eventually learn to trust no one but yourself, and sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together." I now have set auto reject on all my listings just saves hassle. It is unbelievable how many buyers make stupid offers. I do wonder if they think the seller might accept the offer by accident!!0

The last time I had a popular item up I actually checked the offer history and my auto reject had knocked out about 15 offers..and since that was set ridiculously low I shudder to what people thought I would accept. The odd thing was that particular item ended up going for full price to a newbie buyer..but after several days of batting back and forth with offers to more established buyers.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. i think often people start low to find the auto reject level
same as going back through FB to find out what the seller took before for ongoing listings0 -

Sometimes though its unbelievable what offers a seller wont except., I was recently after a £20 item which accepted offers. My first offer was £15 my second was 17.50. They offered a counter offer of £19.80!!. I went elsewhere whats the point in saying offers if you actually want the BIN price.0 -

ive seen that where the accepted offers are pennies under BIN
hardly worth the effort0 -
They've replied (edited a bit to hide the item)Hi Dave. Thanks for the reply. Tbh, I think you'll struggle to sell at that price (snipped) So, one more offer
How about £15 for 2 + postage?
The "struggling to sell" is particularily ironic, if they click the ":number: sold" bit under my seller details, they'll see we've sold 25 of them in the last 16 and a bit days, and a near identical item has sold another 15 in the same time period (blame ebay's glitchy new Best match system for needing 2 near-identical listingsBack on MSE after a 5 year hiatus.

I had an auction a few weeks back, bid upto £20 with 2 days left and 15 watchers. Had someone offer me £5 to end the auction early...why would I do that?!?!?
There's offers, and there's just being plain daft!
With best offer I normally offer 10-20% under BIN price.0
