Orange Mobile Contract

Probably a question that has been asked before, or if not still may seem a daft one

I took out an 18 month contract in September 2008 (obviously 12 months in)
I pay £45 a month for 1200 x mins and unlimited texts
I have seen a deal with O2, same usage, mins etc but £30 a month

Is there anyway I can cancel my Orange contract now, being only 12 months in?
Does this mean I would have to pay the remaing six months left off @ £45 for each month?

Thanks

Yes, you'd need to pay the remaining 6 months off before they'll let you out.

They will let you upgrade 3 months early as a rule, but you won't get as good an offer as if you were out of contract...

You'd have to pay the remaining six months off. There's not really any way around it

Why dont you ring Orange up and ask them if they can price match for 02, and state that you are paying over the odds compared to o2 and if they say we cant change it, try another day and see what someone else says. The first call i made to orange was unsucessful but when i rang again today i managed to get my line rental reduced by £10 a month and im only 6months into my contract :T

So keep trying til you get someone who will reduce it. Also id ring up on the 6/7th of the month before your bill is due so they can change it. If you ring up after 8th you have to wait til the next billing day for them to change the tarriff

Failing that, ask about moving to a reduced tariff and serve the remaining months paying less, so long as you don't regularly use or exceed your tariff allowances.

Spot on DarkConvict. Now you are over half way through the contract you can get the rock bottom tariff. Research what it is and you may still be quids in.

People say you can drop by one tariff per month after 9/12 months. So just ask to be dropped down and ask how many mins/text are included on that tariff.

    Probably go
    £45 to £40
    £40 to £35
    £35 to £30
    £30 to £25
    £25 to £20
