Hi,
Here is a ticket that I received whilst parking outside Magnet in High Wycombe this evening. To me, it looks like a security guard noticed my vehicle on CCTV and has ticketed the vehicle.
I have a few problems with this ticket, which gives me concerns as to whether it's legitimate or not:
Firstly, I cannot find any reference to this company on the net.
Secondly, the business is a house in High Wycombe.
The other reasons follow these photos:
htt p: / / i37 .tinypic. com/2agn9ch. jpg (remove spaces)
(please cut and paste into browse - couldn't post it as an active URL)
#1 Consistancy - "SJPARKING" changes to "sj parking" lower down
#2 Site no 101. Is this their one and only site? Doesn't seem to be a unique number
#3 "YOU VEHICLE" spelling error
#4 "YOU ARE THERE REQUIRED..." should be 'therefore'.
#5 This is a private address. Cannot find any reference to it on the internet.
#6 How can I check this is legitimate? Registered to who or what? Is this a LIMITED company reference, or VAT?
#7 Absence of punctuation - this is a really long sentence, not a profession template.

* If paid within 7 days.... (read it - does it make sense to you?).
* Any (double space) corresponence after this date.... (read this, does THIS make sense?).
* Makes no mention of the "administration fee" charge.
Please advise me what you would do with this. I'm fairly sure it's someone trying it on, but how can I check it's genuine.
Many thanks for any advise on this.

Spelling and punctuation errors are irrelevant, these firms rely on intimidating people into paying by sending a series of increasingly threatening letters. They will threaten to take you to court, but will never actually go near a court, especially not with that amateurish effort printed on a John Bull kit in someone's back bedroom.
Don't pay them a penny, never contact them, and ignore all their rubbish letters.
I have been providing assistance, including Lay Representation at Court hearings (current score: won 57, lost 14), to defendants in parking cases for over 5 years. It makes Magnet look like a bunch of muppets, too.

Definitely some chancer with a high-viz jacket and an inkjet printer in his back bedroom.

Got caught by these muppets today. Had popped into JS to get some wine when visiting friends.
Assume u ignored, interested to hear what happened CC
Tempted to just ignore as per advice here.
I know he has a picture on a camera because i went into the magnet store. The guy was a right chancer and as amused to see the google earth picture.0 -

Don't just be tempted, please be confident to just ignore. I would ignore any private parking ticket and so would my friends & family, we know that it is a scam after me reading up about it on here and on pepipoo.com.
What will happen? You may hear nothing more, or you may receive a series of threatening letters pretending that it's a real fine, pretending that they come from a Solicitor, pretending that they 'may' take you to Court. Then after up to half-a-dozen threatening letters they'll go away to stalk another victim.
Just ignore and file all correspondence (but keep the letters as evidence of the scam, just in case the chancer ever decides in a year or so to rear his ugly head and bung a few Court moneyclaims at previous non-payers when you aren't expecting it). Don't worry about this though, there is a solid defence available on pepipoo.com for those facing one of the very few PPCs who dare to try this. It is very rare anyway.
Ignoring such a toytown 'fine' will not affect your credit status, will not involve Bailiffs and does not have to be declared as a 'debt' or 'fine' on any forms (would you declare if you were ignoring a series of scam emails from Nigeria? Same thing).
The fact is they can only claim 'damages' in Court, and there are usually none so they can claim zero. The so-called 'fine' is a made-up figure which would be unenforceable in the County Court anyway.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

BFG You are behaving like a troll. If you can't contribute anything constructive stay away from these threads.
Often people who receive a ticket from a PPC are frightened and feel vulnerable and intimidated. They are certainly not 'Streetwise' enough to think of reading stickies that may or may not apply to them.
Presumably you would prefer newcomers to just read the stickies and then go away without posting.
Part of the advantage of a site like this is people can discuss their problem, and get reassurance from people who have gone through the same thing.0
