What's the best deal I can get from homecall for broadband + anytime unltd calls?

We're genuinely thinking of switching. Have been with homecall for 18 months with absolutely no problems whatsoever.
We pay a total of approx £35 pcm in total. £24.99 to homecall for unlimited 516 broadband (because that's what was around at the time) plus unlimited uk landline calls any time of day, and £10 or so to BT for the line with free caller display. For us this was a good deal.
Talktalks equivalent package costs £22.50pcm for 2MB broadband (in our area) but I haven't heard much good about them on here (although Homecall gets a slating as well). I'm not worried about the 18 month contract or the limitations for very heavy users - I am concerned about possible service issues, talktalk overloading themselves, and most of all having my landline with them. We can't get broadband for 3.5 months now.
Tiscali's (who also have poor feedbck on here!!) equivalent offering is £30.50pcm for 2MB, 12 month contract, unltd calls and better still, your line is still with BT.
I phoned homecall to see if they would match talktalk. I was put through to retentions who mentioned the drawbacks of talktalk which I already knew. I didn't ask for MAC code at that point so don't know if they make a better offer when you do.
The best they could offer me was upgrade to 1MB (this is their minimum service for new customers anyway) plus an ex gratia discount of £5 for the next 3 months. Basically a rubbish offer as new customers to Homecall get better than that and even Tiscali is offering 2mb with a monthly saving of £5 over Homecall.
I'd rather stick with Homecall if I can get a good deal, but what's the best I can get out of them and how do I get it??
Thanks everyone
