ABBEY Delays and awful service

Requested transfer from Abbey to A&L just under 2 weeks ago. Phoned them up today and they do not have any record of any activity at all though my local branch (who I gave the form to) have confirmed that they have sent it on.

Abbey are unable to confirm the status of the transfer. Great.

Abbey Customer Services Supervisor confirmed that they use SECOND CLASS to send cheques.

I had to "fight" with the awful customer service advisor to even speak to the Supervisor in the first place. She was unavailable but magically available when I insisted.

Awful, awful service from Abbey.

I have also just transferred a cash ISA from Abbey to Bradford & Bingley. Took just over a month from posting my request to receiving the funds into my B&B account. I just kept calling B&B to get them to hassle Abbey for the money. Disappointing that this should even be necessary.
There may be no I in TEAM but there's a ME if you look hard enough!

Mine took 5 days (ABBEY -> A&L), but took longer to show up in my A&L online statement. See above post.
When I called Abbey to confirm, they were able to tell me dates of everything.
i.e. Date they received form, Date they closed account, Date they posted cheque to A&L, and Date A&L paid in cheque.
Guess you'll just have to try it again. Try posting it direct to Abbey's ISA customer services as I did..

I don't see why you would want to add more 'middle-men' into the equation by going to your branch. I know it shouldn't matter, but you aren't helping your cause by introducing these new areas where the form can be lost. Just keep it simple.

I'll also add, A&L added money to the transfer for some reason.. £6 ish.
I don't understand why. It isn't an interest payment, thats for sure.
Interest paid from my abbey account goes to a different current account, and I have a letter confirming the closing balance that they paid to A&L. When A&L paid it into my ISA and it showed on my online banking, there was £6.29 extra. :?

    Confusing Eh!
