Just spoke to someone from the water company, he obviously had a computer map infront of him where he could see all the houses, streets and sewers layout.
Is there anywhere I can see this information too, in the library maybe?

Depends which company area you are in.
For example Yorkshire water allow customers to view the maps on their premises for free. Others may charge.
You should also be allowed to view it free from local council offices - though these may not be as extensive.

I'm with dwr cymru, I have looked at their site for a similar FAQ but so far not found it.

If your interested in your local area ask them if they will send you a hard copy.
