you need to live near a branch mate (i.e. to open you need to go in branch)! I'd not bother, they are dire in terms of banks and I banked with them for years...... That said, the card does look nice but then again anything beats their ugly blue maestro debit card of old!

Cheers NID. There's a branch (Yorkshire Bank) not too far from where i live. Might consider opening a bank account for bills account. Do they have a criteria or are the accounts relatively easy to open? Is internet banking any good?

Easy as pie mate - basically you usually apply for a bank account and if declined they offer you the readycash thing...... However, if you have a copy of your credit report (Experian) take it with you as they can override if you can prove it there and then If accepted for a full account then apply for the gold card at the same time - good chance of getting it. I did, got £200 o/d and a gold card with £2800 or something which back in 2001 was ok I guess.....

Yeah they used to incorporate the acct no and sort card them too.

I know natwest used to back in the day along with HSBC im not sure about other banks.

NatWest Streamline updated their BIN list a year ago for Mastercard Debit, and explained to it's customers what it was and what it looks like.

I think natwest did theres when mastercard pre pay cards started being popular.
