not sure of spec, just worried that if they give me vouchers to use at argos i can't get another 37in
You seem a bit hung on 'having a 37in tv', which is where you may have gone wrong in the first place. You would be better off getting a good quality smaller tv, than a lesser quality 32in.
As others have said, I would be amazed if you cannot get the same spec tv now for less than the price originally paid.Gone ... or have I?0 -

Its not Argos's fault that you didnt read the terms, bought a cheap tv or that yours broke.
Ha ha, yeah, right.
So Argos sell you an extended warranty, then say "it's not our fault your TV broke". Doesn't really work like that...
I don't think it's unreasonable at all for the OP to expect a repair or replacement from an extended warranty scheme...0 -
There are few extended warranties will replace a TV with a different one above the price paid if it's unrepairable. It's all in the terms you signed up to.
Even if you claimed under the sale of goods act, you may just get a partial refund, so this far easier and probably better.Squirrel! If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.
Now 20% cooler0 -
the tv i got was a 37in acoustic solutions priced at £380 now the cheapest 37in is £479.99.
so if it can't be repaired they what will they do, give me £380 in vouchers in which i can't get a same size tv which we want.
can't afford the extra £100
You can get a very good TV for £479.99. Look at this: http://www.cdiscount.co.uk/SoundVisionandSatNav/LCDandPlasmaTV/LCDTV/f/1161/186500/lg-37lh2000-37--hd-ready-digital-lcd-tv.html A far better unit.
Acoustic Solutions are very poor.
SOrry, but this story has little truth in it.0 -

Right...and that helps OP...how?
That unit's £90 more than she'll get in Argos vouchers
Do cdiscount accept argos vouchers as a method of payment, then?0 -
just to say tv was unrepairable and they ARE sending argos vouchers out.
have to go and pick another tv in store and pay with the vouchers0 -
They are listing a 40 inch for £379.99 and they seem to be widely available. Same cheap quality though.0
