Which handset should I choose?

I need a new mobile phone as mine has a very dodgy battery that is just not holding charge when I need it most! I'm on a contract & have a really good deal with my current provider - I'll be squeezing for even more freebies thrown in but honestly I'd be happy with a new handset on the same deal!

I need help choosing the right handset so thought I'd pick the brains of the mobile experts!!

It must have:
bluetooth
voice dialling ability (I will use it handsfree via bluetooth)
tri-band/quad band
vibrating alert (for use in meetings etc)

I use the alarm clock, text quite a lot & make phone calls but honestly don't use many other features. That's not to say I won't use other features if they are there ;)
A camera is a nice to have, but not essential. Ditto video etc. I can't wear in-ear earphones so don't use MP3/music/radio type facilities as I can't easily listen to them!

I prefer slide or flat phones rather than flip phones & I like Nokia brand phones - I have had them for many years & understand their menus etc! My cpmpany mobile is a nokia so if I can use the same charger (small round) that's an added bonus so I don't have to take 2 if I'm travelling etc!!

The following Nokia phones may be possibles - anyone got experience with them, or other suggetsions?
5800, N75, 6700, E71, 6301, 6303, N86, 2330

For what you need it for, I'd go for the E71 or failing that, the 6700

You can always just buy another battery, they are very cheap.

A new battery isn't what I wish to do - the phone is now approaching 4 yrs old & I'm ready to upgrade to something more modern!

Maybe people can advise what clever stuff mobiles do nowdays that I may not know about!!

Like you OP, i am looking for a phone, ive whittled it down to the nokia 5800 and nokia 6700 but stuck now.

what phone do you have at the moment? if you have the nokia 6300, then the nokia 6700 is the upgrade from that-has had great reviews too.
the nokia 5800 is very music oriented but im not sure how good a phone it is for calls etc.
the other phones i dont know much about-sorry.

IT'S A NOKIA! You know that underneath all the fancy stuff it's a Nokia - so it IS good for making calls etc.

5800 vs 6700 is no contest - 5800 definitely. I've been using one since april. 5800 has the MOST clear loudspeakers on the market today, these phone speakers are better than some on the speakers on my radio, they are that good! Also 5800 is cheap, I wouldn't pay more than £140 for it.

Also goggle you should choose the E71, if you text alot. And if you think you can use the touchscreen then get the 5800. I'd say make a decision between E71 and 5800. (Since you text alot i'd say E71.)

had sort of discounted the 5800 as I don't use the music/radio option currently as I can't wear in-ear earphones, but I may look at it again ... a touchscreen is no problem :)

It's a solidly built device. I had mine over 6 months and it's still in excellent condition. The touchscreen keyboard is quite good for typing on. Also because it's resitive means you have to press the screen so if it doesn't work the first time just press harder, which I think is really good.

It's not really a music only device, it's got plenty of other features on it. But the camera is not one of it's strong points. It's not a very good camera, especially for nokia,

5800 has the 3.5 jack so it can take over ear headphones too. And it does have brilliant sound quality and a decent battery life (loves her 5800)
