calling 08 numbers from a mobile...

Not sure if this has been done before but I quite regularly have to call 0845 0800 etc's from my mobile- I routinely use the saynoto 0870 site and have a good list of alternative numbers but some you just can't get around.

Any ideas- I'd happily get a PAYG sim and use that just for them if it reduces the 40p a min t-mobile charge me.

Any help really appreciated..
I am a fee charging WoM Mortgage broker.
I now no longer give information and opinion within the Mortgage boards, because a number of posters who, having approached me professionally, agreed my fee-which has been been made very clear at the outset, taken my advice (normally cancelling a [home visit] meeting at short notice) have then approached one of the fee-free brokers on here to arrange the very same deal I have advised.
Whilst I totally concur with the ethos of "money saving"- abusing the goodwill of a professional who provides a quality service is taking it too far!

If you have inclusive minutes on T-Mob you can use.

    a supplier like http://www.0800buster.co.uk for 0800/0808 calls.

and for 0845/0870 calls http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php via their 020 geographical access number.

As i'm a new user i can't post links

Google for QX Telecom, or type with co uk they offer the following...
    • Instant 0800, 0808 freefone access via 03xx/01xx. (better than 0800buster as you earn a small call credit for daytime calls, which can then be used to pay towards 0870/0845 etc)
    • For 0845/0870 access/as low as 2p/min. (prepaid account, for contracts/landline using 01xx/0800 access)
    • Instant pay per/call fixed rate 09xx access to 0870/0845.
    • Purchase credit instantly via mobile & prepay per/call fixed rate access to 0845/0870.
They also allow 0844/0871 calls, but your credit would be used up quickly as cost more to call, but not many override providers offer calls to these numbers, little less than calling directly in most cases from mobiles.

I've used QX Telecom services for many years, and are very happy with them.

If you go the PAYG route , Tesco mobile's value tariff is 8p to 08 numbers.

0800 buster are just crap....if you dial a 0800 no and then have to make some selections then it does not work. It had been like this for a year now and the promoters seems to have no interest in fixing this bug. so forget it and avoid it at all costs.
however, try qxtelecom nos....ofcourse, you need to have allowance to make free landline calls.

An alternative reliable alternative for cheaper 0800/0808/0500 calls from your mobile is

Pre-Dials Geographical Access Numbers 020 0222 0700/0900, if one doesnt work from your network the other usually does.
