Networks, coverage and service?
Hi,
I'm currently with Orange, and have been for a number of years. Tried Martins method for getting a better deal but met with a brick wall. So I'm looking to move to another provider.
I have no experience of other networks and how they perform so I was hoping that you guys could give me some help in making my decision.
I'm not looking for 3G coverage but need a reliable service. I currently live near London but travel throughout the UK, mostly the eastern side and occasionally go abroad.
So any help would be appreciated.

Near or within London there's not much separating the different networks available.
O2 and Voda seem to have the best coverage, according to most of my friends, and my personal experience with O2 after switching from Orange.
T-Mobile's coverage has been described as dodgy by my flat-mate, even though we're living near the middle of London. I've used their network before (on Virgin Mobile) and never had any problems except a slightly weak signal while indoors.
3's coverage has only improved over the pat year, according to my 3-using friends, however it's still not as good as O2 or Voda. Their tariffs are very good value, though, if you use your phone heavily.
As far as customer service goes, O2 isn't bad, although you sometimes have to call more than once to get the right person to solve your problem. They do offer good retention deals after a contract ends, as is evidenced by the thread on those tariffs. O2 offer a pretty detailed online customer care system, where you can actually view itemised call details even between bills. However, their site's navigation is a little tricky; certainly Orange's is better in that respect.0
