    Call paypal and ask them.

They do sometimes hold money for 21 days, but not usually for clothes and when they do that for electrical or phones the money shows as held from the moment it hits the account the status doesn't change suddenly afterwards

I just opened a new username in the last few months and for the first few weeks some of the items I sold, payments were held until I recieved postive feedback or after 21 days. These were in the Clothes cat.

Goodness, that's worth knowing. So far I had only come across holds in electronics, collectables and mobiles.

I believe this it whats happened to me had a look on paypal, there holding the payment until the buyer leaves me feedback. I had no idea about this, it really scared me i cant afford to lose that much money. Im not new to ebay or paypal so have no idea while its done it to me.
Ive emailed buyer and asked them to leave feedback. apparently if not left in 21 days or a dispute has started they will release it back, 21 days!!!!!!!! what a joke.

Thats dangerous someone asking me to leave positive feedback is likely to get none. The 21 day hold is in the terms and conditions. When you list it will also say that some of your funds may be held. By introducing the 21 day hold paypal have increased your protection as a seller. So you may be moaning but it helps you in a back handed way.

Maybe you should have a look at all the T&Cs before you sell again

I've had payments held and once or twice I emailed the buyer and said that if they were happy could they please leave feedback because their payment was being held. No one minded. I wouldn't mind leaving feedback for someone right away if they explained the situation.

well, first of all I always send stuff which is trackable and I check to see if it has been delivered first. On top of that I left it 6 or 7 days after the item was delivered before I asked. I left feedback first and then sent a polite email explaining the situation and asking if they would mind leaving feedback if they were happy while explaining about the hold. I also said if for any reason they weren't happy to let me know and I would do my best to resolve their problem.

I think that's fair enough and if the situation were reversed I wouldn't mind one bit being asked.

why on earth is it 'danergeous' to ask someone to leave you feedback:rotfl:

I've simply emailed the buyer saying I hope they have received the item and they are very happy with it. If they have received it would they please leave me feedback to let me know that they have.
I do it alot as i'd like to check they have received the item as not everyone leaves feedback to let you know they have.
Why does that insinuate that i'm a dodgy/ inexperienced seller??
