Receipts for things..

Hope right place wasn't sure..

I could scream at times..i keep receipts for loads of things and am quite orgonaised and EVERY time i need an important one it dissapears. Only last week was the one i needed in the kitchen and when i looked for it yesterday it has gone..i have searched high and low and had enough grrr..
So i have started sticking them to the backs of important things i.e tv, fridge etc and the others in a folder with the booklets for them..but not sure this is a good idea if we get burgled?!

Does anyone have a sure fire way of NOT losing them..I also use the online receipt storer but think thats only for things bought online not sure.
Thanks

i do one of three things.
either stick them on the rear of the item. keep them in a folder in the kitchen drawer with the manuals.
or keep them in the original boxes, in the spare room.
i doubt burglars will be very intrested in your shopping receipts.
    Get some gorm.

Thanks good idea i will try to be stricter with myself and avoid this hassle! No i guess the receipts are no good to anyone else really unless, just a pain if i needed them and they were stolen!
    Thanks

Ive recently acquired a receipt spike. Like the ones used in restaurants for completed orders. Got it for free after placing a "wanted" ad on my works intranet site. All my "everyday" purchase receipts go on there. Receipts for TV/laptop etc go in a folder in a lockable box.

I have a little filing system. I've got some of those A4 size folders (from Staples or similar). One folder for each room and one for personal stuff like clothes. So anything bought for the kitchen goes into the kitchen folder, and so on. I do have a drawer in a desk where the folders go in those suspended file things, but if you don't have that then the folders could go in a box.

Or what about a box file and use a plastic pocket for each room. You'll always know exactly where to go if you need the receipt/guarantee, etc.
