Bookie, glad you're getting some money, hope you can sort out the rest.

Sammy, I had to get new car keys a few years ago - £200 and they weren't even remote locking ones (but it did include the tow truck to get me out of the city centre - my handbag was stolen with the key in it and I couldn't find the spare... until a week after I had the new locks done). Why do you need the new one, would your contents insurance cover it?
Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

    Don't believe this!
DWP phoned again - they're runing scared.
I will receive £304.10 on Thursday. They've taken out £204.68 which I received from WTCs - fair enough.
I will the get £45.71 a week. The bawstewards take off £18.59 a week because i have a small mortgage protection policy which pays £250 a month. In other words I have been penalised for being sensible AND I still have to pay the £19.05 insurance policy.
    This goverment stinks!

Bookie, we never got anything deducted because of mortgage protection....

It seems ridiculous. Will have to wait for the paperwork.

so you pay your mortgage protection fee...and then the DWP take something off you as well...mortgage protection is not worth the paper its written on methinks....

Unbelievable.......but yet strangely believable in this warped world of work and you get fook all and don't work and you get absolutely everything thrown at you. My mums friend who is currently unemployed volunteers at a centre where drug addicts, alcoholics etc get their hair done for free (along with beauty treatments, teeth whitening etc) for the simple reason they are addicts....!!!!!!!

Bookie - glad you've finally got some money through...was just telling DH about it he said to check the small print on your policy as you may not need to continue to pay it now that a claim has been made...most policies only require you to have x amount of months premium paid before you can claim.....and there's normally no restriction on when you can cancel the policy......worth looking into...if you need any help with it then shout.

edited to add that obviously, if need be you could start a new policy off when you get a job.

We've just had the nice benefits lady out - she was very helpfull and is calling back next week as we should be able to get a discretionary housing benefit payment due to our debts....fingers crossed!

    Bookie,

i don't think they are allowed to take that out of your JSA as the Gov. reckon you need the £64 a week to live on.

Might be worth another phone call just to double check....

In other news..we got news last week that sky had switched all their "packages" around and our new broadband package was going to be less download limit for the same money.....so we had a bit of a moan....they've offered us the better package for the lower price for 3 months, a free sky+ box and 50% off our viewing costs for the next 6 months. That was worth the moan then. But I do wonder how many people they'll catch out. (we only took the sky out for the quidco money and the cheaper broadband so it's saved money all round)

  • Sorted elctricity out - hopefully.
They hadn't put down the final end of contract details.
Why does it always happen to me?
