Managed correctly three weeks + is the benchmark. In that period everything almost always turns up.
We send thousands of packets through packet post, and have made just handful of claims this year. Some I am sure were phony (buyer enduced)
Bursting everyones bubble....you refund, it turns up a week later, some will contact....most will not.
If i have to wait 3 weeks for a refund thats a paypal dispute and neg feedback from me.0 -
Dont Royal Mail require 15 working days before they will regard an item as 'lost'?Please do not quote spam as this enables it to 'live on' once the spam post is removed.
If you quote me, don't forget the capital 'M'

That's correct, for internal UK mail an RM claim cannot be started until the 15 working days have elapsed. For overseas mail it is 25 working days (5 weeks).
However that is nothing to do with the buyer, that is the seller time frames for claiming.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. I always refund straight away if they say it is lost after a week or so. Not worth my time to fight a losing battle. Whats the point fighting a paypal claim when you can't prove delivery ?
The problem is how many buyers will repay for an item if it arrives very late after they have got refund? Very few although I guess there are the odd one or two.0 -

Well I must be one of the few then. I've got 2 items currently lost/delayed in the post from 2 separate sellers and being the understanding person I am and with all the strikes and what not I would not leave neg feedback when it's not the sellers fault and also if it comes to being refunded and the items turn up after I would let the seller know and pay. After all I wouldn't want that happening to me.0 -
I have always found it odd that some ebay users are more inclined to believe that buyers are dodgy than to accept that items can go astray. Parcels get lost, it happens and it isn't any great conspiracy designed to thwart sellers.
i agree but even when i waited the max time i still had a seller moan at me that id escalated a claim. i waited a month before i opened the claim then waited the max. time before i escalated it, i waited as long as paypal would allow me to.0
