YAY i love a good rant
I vote A.
As soon as I reached 40 I thought it was my duty to moan a lot more and blame everything on the "youth of today"...
I have also caught myself saying "it wouldn't happen when I was a lad".
I am waiting to reach 60 so I can sit in the park and shout at ducks.0 -

PS. The Penelope Keith voice takes some doing as I am a blokey.
If the voice doesn't work do you bring out the black leather Joan Ferguson gloves?:D

Who is Joan Ferguson and why would I want her gloves.
BRB - Google is my friend you know.0 -
That is one ugly woman/man. I'll bet 50p that she likes the company of errrmmmm females.
Still not understanding the gloves thingy.0 -
The gloves were here tradmark thing, they symbolised her and her controlling. Basically I meant if the voice didn't work you would go all Joan Ferguson on them. Would have been better if you'd seen the show. And yep she's a lady that liked the ladies.Male.

As the OP, I am surprised and disappointed at the number of people who have replied who don't have a problem with people walking around a supermarket eating a hot food takeaway.
I would hate standards to slip further to the level I used to see when I lived in Australia. It used to be a regular sight to see people shopping in supermarkets barefoot, without tops on, wearing just their pyjamas (yes, really!) However my all time worst was people with babies in nappies (quite often sh1tty!) who would sit their kids in the trolleys (not in baby seats, but actually in the bottom of the trolleys where you would put your food! I have even seen on numerous occasions, people sitting their babies (again complete with filled nappies) on the conveyor belt at the chekout whilst they emptied their trolleys. And the staff never batted an eyelid!
The point of my original post was that the acceptance of things like this only causes the steady drip, drip, drip, erosion of values and standards and only has one direction for things to go, and thats down.

I agree with you. What a smelly person she must have been! The standards in this country have all but disappeared now.
And I'm fed up of seeing lardy arst women with their burgerbelly sticking out from under their t-shirts on jeans that are so small there pants are showing at the back. It's just so cheap looking.
People are so sloppy nowadays, they slumber round the supermarket at a snail's pace, scoffing biscuits on their way. And they are so fat 2 of them block the aisles so you can't escape from them.
And small children run round like a pack of animals screaming as loud as they can, like nobody owns them. I was in A&E yesterday after an accident and the kids that were running around with their stupid mothers just sitting watching them doing nothing. If we'd acted like that when we were little we'd have got a slapped leg. There's no deterrant any more, bad behaviour starts in the pram.
A good rant does you the world of good eh? :cool:I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

I'm 23 and I don't think you were over reacting at all. In a supermarket, or shop that sells food to wander around eating is off-putting at best! How are you meant to decide what you would like to eat if all you can smell is someone else's takeaway? Surely it poses some form of hygiene risk?0

The only thing about the OP that I disagree with is them 'having a word' with the cashier - management would probably come down hard on a 'lowly' worker telling a customer off no matter how awful they were.
Agree totally that standards have slipped across the board, and just to get one of my pet hates in, I LOATHE blokes that go shirtless in shops and the street!
Save it for the beach or public park - I don't wan't to see your sweaty body!
I believe in Italy it's even an arrestable offence in cities and towns :T"I'm ready for my close-up Mr. DeMille...."0 -
