If you think you have it bad on the mainland, come over here to NI - situation is dire.
I look through magazines, see stuff I like, go 20 miles to M&S and find they dont stock it, So then go to belfast - they to dont stock it either. Internet they say. All well and good but buying online you cant feel the material and then there is the lack of sizes. We all know that when we go shopping that we can try on three different sizes to get the one that fits - not really practical when ordering online
Cant even get matching sets of underwear due to lack of sizes.....
I had a classic conversation with an M&S assistant once. There was a really nice outfit on one of the mannikins and despite a really good look I couldn't find it.
I found an assistant and enquired where I might find it only to be told that they weren't stocking it at that particular store. You really couldn't make it up

M&S saved me from ill fitting jeans! I had spent about 6 months looking for the perfect pair and found them. Kick flare, long leg, not too low waisted and sucked everything in. And only £19.50!!! I even wore them out the shop. Went back a week later to buy more pairs, discontinued :-( :-(0

That's a really good idea, I must have a quick squizz on ebay! I'm a bit on the short side, to put it mildly:o :rotfl: And Marks is the only place I can ever get trousers that vaguely fit me (can't be bothered with the faff of alterations) - but either they've run out of short sizes in store, or more often I just don't have the time to go trapesing round the shops.

I checked out ebay at the weekend - nothing. I have ordered a pay of skinny's in a 12 short... (and I am not, but could be good news for Sazbo
). I thought I would get them, try the fit and if they are really short, then they will go with my longer boots? Or if they are really short and narrow in too much, may wear them as pantaloons or when I have the 'trots' as a safety measure...

Jeanie - bad news, Im 5ft 2 and I find M&S jeans Short - too short after a wash. They tend to run just above the ankle bone so will be fine in the winter but then I find mine are too short then for the summer with trainers or pumps0 -

What has happened to Marks and Sparks??? Do they not take note of what they sell? Sack the buyers, I say. Obviously can't do their job well if they are not taking stock of the market. And then they moan about sales dropping! Well, 'Hello' - stock what we want and we will buy!Genie

I am quite excited - skinny jeans for the over 40s. For the record I love my per una straight leg jeans (bought several years ago).
But are you now telling me I can't buy them? Are they not instore?
