I was absolutely delighted and nearly orgasmic at finding high waisted (or on the the waist) skinny jeans (per una) on their website. One customer stated in a review that they were the best, even tho she was a 12 bordering a 14, they were perfect and also perfect for tucking into boots.
This is sooo me, I thought!!!!!!!! So excited! But then I tried to order some.. ah, here's the hitch.. they don't seem to stock them in average sizes or they have sold out. What a bummer... gutted....

Sounds like M & S! I know this is an online gripe but I'm going to hijack a bit.
Most of the time I come out empty handed as they have sold out of my size. When I've complained instore it's generally my fault - should have come in earlier or later in the week
They won't even order instore for you now - you have to order online....0 -
So why not buy some elsewhere? Skinny jeans are pretty common nowadays?
I'm not sure about your comment about the woman being a 12 bordering a 14 - does that make a difference?Gone ... or have I?0 -

When I buy jeans, even if I do in a shop where I've bought 'regular' trousers before, I find I need to buy a size larger. So I see why the OP mentions this, particularly if they are skinny jeans. HTH :beer:0 -

Do you know what its like to find a pair of jeans that fit where you want without having to go designer route?
Sure skinnys are everywhere but when you are a certain age and size you dont want your midriff hanging over both sides, you like jeans to fit on the bum and round the waist.
Builders bum in your 40s is so not a look you want :rotfl:0 -

I'm vaguely a 12, most shops the 12 fitting is too tight and the 14 is too big, so this was excellent news! Except that they don't have them in stock now and I wanted the skinny jeans re tucking in boots etc. I work in an environment where I need to keep warm in the winter, so things like this may seem trivial to you but they are really important to me. And no, I can't change my work environment, before you ask! :rotfl:Genie

From the other gripes I've read, in store or online - just don't the have sizes! Really annoying - had a size 12 short - but really far too short to get away with, even with boots. I keep measuring my inside leg in case it shrinks... :rotfl:Sounds like M & S! I know this is an online gripe but I'm going to hijack a bit.

I think M & S have not produced what its core customers want for a very long time both in terms of clothes and service. For a long time I've not found jeans or any trousers in M & S to fit in all the right places and I'm a standard size 14.
By the way I was so pleased to see that the OP referred to them as "Marks & Sparks". I thought I was the only one left of my generation who called them that. When my 7yr grandson first heard me call them by that name he fell about laughing but now he gets cross if I do it!fitzroy0 -
If you think you have it bad on the mainland, come over here to NI - situation is dire.
I look through magazines, see stuff I like, go 20 miles to M&S and find they dont stock it, So then go to belfast - they to dont stock it either. Internet they say. All well and good but buying online you cant feel the material and then there is the lack of sizes. We all know that when we go shopping that we can try on three different sizes to get the one that fits - not really practical when ordering online
Cant even get matching sets of underwear due to lack of sizes.....0 -
Maybe we should petition them! How else will they learn - unless their buyer comes on here..... which is hardly likely, probably quaffing champers somewhere.. :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Genie
