Oh well, it's better than the residential care home I used to be responsible for. At one time the staff allowed the residents free access to the freezer, as they microwaved their own lunches as part of a normalisation programme. That is, until the staff found that one resident was cooking three packets of food and eating the one that looked nicest..................Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).0

my sandwich bank is now back down to £15.75 really as the money i'd saved has just gone on dd new school shoes, but i'm still going cos it was so good not to have to take the extra money out of the bank. thanks for this thread, its ace. packed lunch again today, some left over cottage cheese and crackers, followed by fruit and yogurt.£2 saver club 30th sept 198 £2 coins = £396(£350 banked)0

This sounds like a great idea. Can i join?
I need to clear a few things up though? i currently live with my mum and dad and pay rent and included in my rent is food to make for sarnies. So looking at the plan means that i should just pocket the SPI money straight into a pig because i don't have any costs for raw materials, as it's already included in my rent. Does this make sense or am i talking rubbish?
Any opinions from anybody doing this?DFW nerd 144

A nice touch might be occasionally using your sandwich piggy to treat your mum and dad ...Signature removed for peace of mind0 -
That's a really nice idea, Savvy_Sue...I'm sure that scuba's mum and dad would probably appreciate it as well (as they probably don't expect it!).:D
Scuba - remember to checkout the Grabbit board if you do this, for some great ideas which still allow you to save money whilst treating your parents. Better still, use quidco/pigsback and you can all benefit!;)

Great idea!!!
Bought myself some sainsburys frosties today (saved £1 by not buying branded!) to start saving money on my work breaks. I used to be brilliant at taking food in and have to get back into the habit so thought a tub of cereal was a good way to start because its easy to prepare! I won't be putting the money in a pot, i'm going to raise my debt payments a bit instead.

THis is fantastic! My pig will be full in now time considering I spend about £4 a day on lunch! Might even start taking a flask of coffee into work for the mornings - the stuff they sell in the canteen if grotty anyhow!
I'm going to make up a big pan of bulgar wheat with veg and tomato sauce. Hopefully will get a few days lunches out of this and can add too it with meat left over from dinners too!Proud to be dealing with my debts!0
