1 other question my oh has been a named driver on my policy for over 5 years does that mean they have 5 years no claims? i have had 2 claims on the policy under my name, my oh has never made a claim.
ta very much for your help i'd never have found a quote that cheap without your advice0 -
The options are extras. Buy them if you would be happier with them - though check you would be eligible for them all (eg having a courtesy car in the event of an accident would involve you making a claim, which you wouldn't want to!)
Being a named driver doesn't normally get you any NCD. (Unless you are with an insurer who gives named drivers discount providing they take out a policy with the same company). The current NCD on the other policy you mention can only be used by the policyholder on one car.
You can get cashback on swiftcover (I don't recommend them, just know they are cheap for policies like this where you won't be making a claim) - eg £28 via quidco, topcashback etc.0 -

Yes - as already posted, the excess is only payable if you claim for damage, fire or theft to your own car.
If a third party makes a claim against you, then there is no excess to pay.0 -
ta so much for your help it's all clear now.0

If you do find it cheaper than TPFT to get a comprehensive policy like this, with a comp. policy you will be able to claim (if you need to) on the windscreen section of the policy (the excess on windscreen claims would not be the £1000 - usually its around £65 for replacement, nil if you have a windscreen repair, and windscreen claims don't normally affect your NCD).0

I could not get a comprehensive quote if I entered an excess of £1000; it says the excess is too high in relation to the value of the car. Makes sense. If Swiftcover allow it then it must be a temporary bug in their software.0

You can't have done this at Swiftcover, they don't ask for the car value.
So, not a bug, it's been an option a long time.0
