Any stopped using ebay because of there stupid policies?

Ebay has really !!!!!! me of this past year or so with there stupid new policies.

First there was taking away the ability to leave feedback for buyers, then there was this stupid Paypal hold on fund, for someone like me on low income and used the money to pay for postage I can't do this anymore and have had to just refund buyers.

Then there is this new thing where you have to offer free postage on certain items:mad:

I have almost 200 positive feedback but have decided they are no longer worth the trouble and will be using the likes of gumtree from now on to sell items

Ahem. Ebay own Gumtree. Although at least you won't have to pay them any fees directly. Why not Craigslist? Ebay and Craigslist hate each others' guts.

  • Yeah I'm a bit frustrated by this free postage thing. I had a bunch of DVDs which normally I'd list and not be too worried if they didn't sell as I wouldn't lose out on a free listing.

But now I only listed 3 of them and 2 games. 2 were boxsets (over 600g) and 1 was a game with 2 guns weighing over a kilo. I put a starting price of 99p for free insertion and knew these items would sell for more than the postage, but if they didn't I could be losing money.

I emailed ebay about this yesterday and they pointed out that I could have set these items to "bulk/courier" which would override the free postage thing and let me add the postage costs to the postage section.

It also annoys me that now ebay are making their 8% or whatever the final value fee is out the postage costs.

I'm looking elsewhere now and found magpie last night to sell my high risk (of losing money through ebay) dvds. Got between 30p and 60p per DVD.

    I'll check out craiglist, thanks.

Amazon and Play are worth looking at for DVDs / CDs, etc.

So you'd rather potentially lose out on £2.24 and £4.45 than 10p a item which gives you two goes of selling? Some peoples thinking astounds me.
Also wondering what people did inbetween dvds needing to be inclusive and free 99p listings coming in.
This is my opinion. There are many others like it but this is mine

I am a professional ebay seller. I work hard at my job, I love my job, if you think it's silly that's your problem not mine. :p

I stopped using ebay coz they ripped me off with paypal.... it was a total joke... to be fair I think its much hard to get a decent price for things you're selling these days... plus there seemed to be a spate of people bidding for stuff they had no intention of buying - very annoying...

    Winge over... lol

I adjust my selling patterns and my selling habits to fit the rules and whilst I can still turn a rather nice profit every week I shall carry on.

I have got out of a few markets due not only to ebay changes but to RM changes a few years back when my postage shot up as everything suddenly became a packet for RM purposes.

I've recently been having a mega tidy out for my sons, and they have each taken over £100 on stuff they had lying around, most of which if it wasn't for ebay they probably would have just charity shopped or even dumped.
