What I would suggest doing (it's what I did!) is take the book and the game to the till and say 'Is there a deal on when you buy these 2 together?' the SA then said to me 'Not that I know of, but I'll try scanning them' Hey Presto, they scanned with the DS at the reduced price, I then handed over the £5 off voucher and paid my magnificent sum of a tenner for both!
If she had been awkward or unwilling to scan I may have suggested she tried it or left it according to how rigid she was and tried another branch maybe?
As a previous poster said, my sister confirmed she had seen this displayed in a branch that you got the DS game for a fiver when you PREORDERED the book so don't think it will be long before they catch on and put a stop so HURRY!

I took my receipt back to my local W H Smith (where I bought the book a week ago) and asked about the game deal and they said that it's not on now as the deal offered on "pre orders" only.
Told them I thought that they might be wrong as I had a friend who had got this at another store, and so the SA rang their store manager.

The Manager just confirmed again that this offer was on pre orders and so don't have to honour it now.

Will have to try another store.
    Aims for 2014
Drink a glass of water a day, Empty handbag at least once a week, Continue "not putting things off" and tackle things head on, Treasure people around me, Stay healthy and well away from hospitals, Continue to declutter/decorate house slowly and not get stressed because I can't do everything at once. :D

Yes I would go to another store and just try and get the whole deal again then take your original book back or keep it as a gift for someone its a good price for a fiver! :) Good luck

I haven't had a chance to try this out yet, but I've just been looking at how much the DS game is on it's own and it's £7.93 on the WH Smith Entertainment website, so I'm not going to be heartbroken if I can't get it for a fiver.

    Would be nice though.
