I did manage to get the house into reasonable condition before landlady came with builders to look around. Phew!
I still need to finish cleaning the guinea pigs as I only managed to put one lot out and muck out their cage before whizzing madly aroung the house with a vacuum. Why am I doing this to myself. It would have been so much better to get it all done yesterday and today just sit down sipping cup of tea and reading a news paper while waiting. Doh!!!
Good news from the new house front (one hopes). BF went to look at a house this morning and then he went to the agent's office to sort out the paperwork. So the agent emailed me the application forms, I printed them, filled them in, scanned them and emailed them back togehter with the offer of employment letter from my new job. My application has now been sent to referencing. I do so hope that my appalling credit history won't stop me having this house. BF is going to be a guarantor anyway.
So today I need to write a letter to one of my creditors, remember to take phone number of another one to work tomorrow so that I can call them during lunch break. And I need to start going through family court papers. Yes my ex is peeveed that I have stopped him seeing DD and is taking me to court. Just what I didn't want when there is so much going on already.
Tomorrow I will definitely stay in the office after work and study as I am sooooo much behind that it is scary. I am actually thinking of buying Memory Girl's book in a hope it will help with my desperate attempts to be ready in time for these exams. (Any excuse to buy more books.)

Marru this sounds very stressful. I hope Memory Girls book will be of help to you. Aren't there old papers you can work through. I can't imagine that the format of ACCA papers will change very much. I dont do any accounts really but hopefully there is a system out there you can work around to make it easier so you are confident for the exam.
Good luck with house. Hope issues with ex are manageable. Sounds really tough.Aiming for a minimal spend 20220 -

Umm yes - guinea pigs
Just got a call from the agent. The landlords or the property that I am after want to meet me at the property so I have to drive there tomorrow afternoon to secure the deal. This is going to be a military operation again with DD etc..."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

House
I went to see the new house yesterday and also met my landlord, both were lovely.
Funny thing is that when I was thinking about a house obviously I was thinking about the space that we need, the location that would be convenient for us but also every time I couldn't help thinking that I really would like to have a house where I could have a cat.
You can imagine how surprised I was when I went to the house and saw a cat flap on the back door . I didn't have the courage to ask the LL if I can have a cat there. I will do that when I feel the time is right.
Now here is the moral dilemma. I am going to rehome my guinea pigs because a) I don't have enough time to look after them properly (i.e. the guilt for not doing as much for and with them as I should is bigger than the guilt to give them away) and b) there is no room for them in my new place. So if I can't look after my GPs properly why should I be "allowed" to have a cat. I shall ponder this over the winter and by spring I might have an answer.
DFW
- Black horse cc: FF approved, waiting for funds to clear and then sending cheque
- Sparkles cc: waiting for them to accept my offer, they should do as I used the amount I was given on the phone
- NastyW cc: Called the bank - useless, stern letter going to the DCA tomorrow
- School clubs: going to pay my arrears when I get deposit back from this house
Tasks
- Find a light weight platform for hire so that we can tame the monster hedge this weekend
- Start searching best place to hire van from
- Book haircuts for me and DD
- Try get moving boxes from freegle
- Contact rescue re piggies
- Write letter to DCA
- Leave forwarding address with DD's old school
- Find out what I need to do re the court case
And to finish with
Tomorrow is my last day in my old job. Mixed feelings really. People were really nice and the culture of the workplace extremely friendly and almost cosy but I wasn't using my full potential and was under worked, underpaid and extremely bored. However it was the right job at the right time and it gave me time to recover and get better and now it is time to move on as I have after all this time found that old me, well old me but better. Despite all the stress I am staying positive am generally ok, albeit very tired."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."

That is it - last day at work for me and at school for DD. I will start new job on 1 November and she will start new school on 2 November.
BF has done a lot of work in the garden and the hedge starts looking a bit tamer. Thank goodness for that. I need to now find out how to get rid of all of that stuff. Ideally if I could find someone who comes and shreds it and then takes away that would be fab. Or perhaps I should hire a skip. Might do some online research later tonight.
No news from the new house i.e. if the paperwork is progressing, no news from the reference company but last time I spoke to them it was all ok except she didn't say that there were finished with me yet
Still very tired and having had headache since I woke up this morning is not making the situation any better. Need to put DD to bed and then it will be a takeaway night for me and BF. Tackling my todo list again tomorrow."Everything will be alright in the end. If it's not alright, it's not the end."
