That is rubbish. Just get them to issue you a PAC and give it to 30

Hi Brokeass, I have investigated this for you and confirm that we can provide you with a Pac code which you can provide to your new company that you wish to take up your new mobile service with, however some companies do not accept the number prefix that we have provided to our customers and this may be why you were advised that we could not give you a Pac code to move to your new company.“Official Company Representative
I am the official company representative of BT. MSE has given permission for me to post in response to queries about the company, so that I can help solve issues. You can see my name on the companies with permission to post list. I am not allowed to tout for business at all. If you believe I am please report it to forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com This does NOT imply any form of approval of my company or its products by MSE"0 -
is it an 07777 number? if so then porting restrictions are in place that 07777 numbers can only be ported to o2/voda and mnvo's that use them

If that's the case then could you port the number to O2/Voda pay as you go (free SIM card available online I would think!), get a PAC from them and then transfer to 3?
Or do you mean that they can never be transferred outside these networks, not just when porting from BT? If so then you're a bit stuck!Any opinions are my own and are offered as advice only and not fact.0 -
What he's saying is that only those network are able to handle a number that starts 07777, so 3 will never be able to port it in as their system can't run a number in that range.0

yeah for some reason you can only port within o2/voda and mnvo's that offer their service
