A friend has a Epson RX620 printer.
They cannot get the printer to print any other colour apart from yellow. They have tried all maintenance features including head clean etc. They have changed all cartridges twice. They have done many times head cleaning. Reset all settings all printer software settings, checked all cables connections etc.
When trying Nozzle check all colours work. But apart from yellow other inks dont seem to work when printing a word document.
Tried a google search and Esposn website for any similar problems but could not find none. Any help/suggestions welcome please.

Odd problem, especially as the nozzle check is ok.
A few of things they could maybe try:
- Windows test print (from printer settings page)
- a different USB cable (assuming is is USB)
- Connect to a different PC or laptop to test it
- Uninstall the driver and download/install the latest from Epson0 -
Have they tried replacing the print head?0

On the printer control pannel (through control pannel) right click and select properties, then look through the options, try selecting print in greystyle, high quality, low quality etc.
Normally a 'bump' in printing conditions will sort it out, if not try a full uninstall followed by a reinstall after downloading the most recent drivers from the epson website
Hope this helps

Tried windows test print...all in yellow apart from Win logo which is in dark colours.
Not tried different cable yet, but cant see how that can help, but will suggest it.
The person does not have original Printer install CD. Looked at Epson website and we both got confused with all the software options for Win Xp. Any help welcome on which ones they need for uninstall/reinstall.
Tangle foot- how can they replace the print head?0 -
Try reinstalling the drivers for appropriate OS
winxp 32bit

Since no-one appears to sell the things I'm guessing the only way to do that would be to buy a new printer. If it prints correctly during a nozzle check the print head is unlikely to be the culprit anyway.how can they replace the print head?

if they have bought the cartridges from the same place in a short amount of time it could be a bad batch of cartridges. ask the store if they know of any problems and buy some from another place.
failing that and you have tried all of the above it could be new printer time...0 -
Thanks i will pass on your comments and let you know if there is any success0

Try going through the RX620's menus and performing some sort of maintenance operation that will force it to print colour - for example, a nozzle check or (even better) print a photo direct from USB or memory stick/card. If it still prints yellow only, then you can completely rule out any PC/software/driver issues.0
