I have someone who comes to my house and always wants to go on my computer as they aren't on the net. I don't mind but I have some personal stuff on there that I don't want anyone else reading. How can I hide it effectively please. I'm sure other people get this problem too and would be grateful to hear your knowledgeable solutions.Quincy wrote:If XP just create another user account
Start, Control Panel, User Accounts, Create a New Account, then Call it whatever, now after creating that account go back into User Accounts and password protect your account and also make private when asked.
I did this and have been merrily using this account for my personal stuff thinking it was hidden but today the person who use my PC came and up flashed all my personal stuff.
He went into the icon for 'My Computer' and there was the name of my name for it clicked on there and up it came.
Could I have set it up wrongly or is it inevitable that it shows up.
Thanks for in advance for any help, I am annoyed and embarassed as I'm sure you'll understand, personal stuff is personal stuff.:o :mad:Women and cats will do as they please and men and dogs should get used to it.;)
