ABAi - just did a job for them after a long time not.

Am shocked they send cash through the post.

And on top of that, they only put my postcode on the envelope - 1st line of my address was replaced by the job title.

Am a little concerned as i've done 5 more jobs for them since that one -Cmas post being as it is and their lack of correct addresses means I'm not confident I'm going to get paid for them all.

Anyone else had ABAi money go missing? did they re-issue payment?

Can't remember how long I have worked for them but it's many many years
(about 15 I think) and in all that time I have never had a payment go missing!
I would recommend you amend your address details though with a quick telephone call.

It is an archaic system. Very bizarre really! I have often speculated as to whether they are a front for some money laundering organisation. What a suspicious mind I have!

I've been with them nearly 3 years and never had a payment go missing.

I also do their "By Invite Only" jobs and if I've done a high volume of these I get a cheque, and when the postal strikes were on they set up a BACS system. I think it is their intention to pay everyone by BACS at some time in the future.

  • Hiya,
I spoke to someone at Abai about sending cash, explaining that a few times recently I have caught someone trying to steal post from our block of flats letterboxes. The only reply I got was "Well, don't accept jobs that pay in cash then so you don't risk it" Helpful eh! But no I was told that under no circumstances will abai re-issue payment once it has been sent by them. She did confirm though that a BACS system is quite possibly in the pipeline, yay!

How do you know if specific jobs pay in cash or not???!!!

If they fluff the address though, that's their fault!

No response to my email yet - I'll call later if no response.

I am wondering if something is a bit wrong this month. My dh had a payment earlier from them, his name our post code, town and county, but where the street line should be it had the name of the place he did the ms at. I will wait and see when mine arrive if it is like that and I know mine have been correctly addressed before. Lucky in a way that dh shop was in a different town, mine was here so I hopefully if there is a problem with the address it will be delivered by postcode and come here and not go there but I'm not sure how different the postcodes are, we will have to see.

I had a payment go missing over the strikes, mainly due to the posties in my area being on strike before the national ones as well. They sent me a cheque after giving it a few more days to see if it came through.
