They were quick off the mark, had the letter from Link Financial yesterday. I'm now trying to remember what happened with it, I don't think it can be statute barred as he mentioned I letter I sent them a couple of years ago....do I chance it and send a statute barred letter anyway? This account would've been around 10 years old I reckon. If they prove it's not, I could then send a letter asking for the signed credit agreement before asking for a !!!!!! figure or arrange instalments. Really need to get rid of this as I thought I was pretty much debt free and this has come out of the blue, hope there's no more lurking about? Maybe my 'not drinking' money can go towards paying it off.

send the statute barred letter. What's the worst that could happen?

The letter he said you sent. Do you remember sending it? COuld be one of their 'cunning ploys'

I don't remember sending it, but I was pretty messed up financially a couple of years ago and was sending letters left, right and centre asking for good will payments to be accepted...though I thought that was more like 5 years ago rather than 2, I think I would've remembered sending it over the past 2 years as I've been in my job for 2 years next week and I haven't had any 'money troubles' since I started there. I probably did send a letter, but reckon it might be near the 6 year mark so they're going for it before the date passes, I'll wait send a statute barred letter off and see what comes of it :D

Hope you are well Lurkioioio my dear? xx

  • You're doing so well considering where you've been - and yes, definately send the statute barred letter - you have nothing to lose and it does seem loike the most likely reason for them suddenly deciding to chase you now, that the 6 year limit is looming.

There are so many changed on the horizon for you now with the paying off of arrears on rent and council tax coming you an end - you'll be like lady muck with all the extra money you'll have!
