Sounds like you are having a very productive day Jo, good on you :T.
I will check out the Abel & Cole offer, thanks.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
Hi Scrooge,
Today's the last day for the Abel & Cole code that I have used, I noticed they've had this offer a couple of times but I wanted it so that I could get the crimbo meat.
The info is not showing on the website now, but I was told a few days ago that the code still works (like I say, today's the last day!). I've copy and pasted the original email they sent me, when you put the code in, it comes up with the promotion description so that you know it's worked....Hope this helps....
To take advantage of this offer simply:
1. Add code AUTUMNSUB50 in the promotion code section when you place your first order before 10th October 2009.
2. To ensure you receive the £50 credit to your account you need to have 4 consecutive weekly deliveries, each of £15 or more (not including 99p delivery charge).
3. Each delivery must include one of our set fruit &/or veg boxes, selected on an 'every week' order frequency.

We have a veg box delivered - not from Abel & Cole but from a local company. Love getting them, although there are times when it is a bit "Ready, Steady, Cook!" I have, however, as a result of getting the box tried lots of different veggies that I wouldn't have done otherwise. To be honest I'm not actually that bothered about the organic-ness of it, it's the fact that ours is all sourced as locally as possible that does it for us.🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

Oh, they don't deliver in my area. That's what comes of living in the frozen North. I love organic vegetables too.... Never mind.
Me thinks you are far to hard on yourself Jo. You're doing a great job.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -

Yes, I used to get a box like that delivered years ago, but stopped when I wasn't using up all the fruit and vegetables.
Now that i'm an MSE convert and tackling old style cooking though, think I will re-start. Shame about the offer though.

I'll be honest and say that I'm only using them again because of the offer. There are various farm shops around this way (and I live in Greater London!) that offer far more cheaper products. I used to have veg boxes delivered, including meat and other stuff because I earnt far more money a few years ago and was still in my 'head in the sand' situation so convenience was the key.
Since then, I earn half my old salary, couldn't even dream of earning enough to have veg boxes delivered regularly but thought the incentive of the £50 was worth it, i.e. £60 of fruit and veg which I've used all of and was very yummy and crimbo dinner practically paid for and the meat, hopefully, should be pretty amazing from what I've tried before. Let's hope it's the case this year!
Shame about the offer though Scrooge.
On the subject of xmas dinner, had the outlaws ring today and ask us for xmas dinner.........on 22nd Novemberthey are going away for xmas. Unfortunately we have a family party on 29th November so means we've got to see them 2 weekends in a row

Sounds like a fab offer, well spotted.
At least you will not have to put up with them outlaws eating all your lovely meat at Christmas dinner Jo.
Them outlaws sound like hard work though! Don't envy you there.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0 -
