Won tickets but error means I probably won't receive them- ALL SORTED!!!

Received a letter from Auto-Sleepers this morning. Apparently I won a pair of tickets for the Caravan & Motorhome show at the NEC from this comp posted by mrcrazy04 but the letter containing the tickets was sent in the wrong name. I DID receive a letter addressed to someone else last week but unfortunately because it was sent recorded delivery and the name on the envelope didn't relate to anyone living in my house, Royal Mail wouldn't let me sign for it so I doubt I will be able to recover them in time
Thanks anyway mrcrazy04, I have contacted Auto-Sleepers so hopefully they will be able to sort something out

I hope so, I'd really like to go. I've entered other comps for tickets to this so hopefully I may win another pair (guess it's unlikely though).
Oh well, I can't complain. Lady luck has been very kind to me just lately

If the letter was recorded delivery surely it should have gone back to the sender? If it has then hopefully you will get the tickets and have a wicked time tooIf at first you don't succeed try, try, try again.

I have emailed the company who ran the comp so hopefully if they do receive the tickets back they will mail them out to me again. I wasn't planning to go to the show until the final day so that would give them a fortnight to get the tickets back to me.
Have to wait and see I suppose

where were you attempting to sign?
at the door or delivery office?0 -
Door. The postie looked at the name and said something along the lines of "This isn't yours is it?" and I said no not realising that the letter was actually intended for me. It had my address on it but someone elses name.where were you attempting to sign?

How does your postman know that my postman just hands it over and doesnt care who signs it as long as it goes to somebody and tbh sometimes (not with recorded delivery) he just leaves stuff on the doorstop.
Hope you get to go I would love to go my family are big fans and really want to go may be going anyway.2010 wins: February - Maybelline Make upGood luck all0 -
Well I actually know my postie you see. He knows the names of everyone in my house. He told me that he couldn't give it to me and TBH I didn't realise it was for me anyway. I thought it was probably just an error and the mail was intended for the other person.vickialice wrote: »How does your postman know that my postman just hands it over and doesnt care who signs it as long as it goes to somebody and tbh sometimes (not with recorded delivery) he just leaves stuff on the doorstop.
