that seems like a pretty fair price even if you were out of london. it all depends on whether they are supplying the parts. if so what are they charging you. trade normally skim some profit on the costs of goods as well fyi that where they make their true profit

    Hi Andy
Fantastic price as long as their work is sound. Wish they lived nearer because i would take them in a heartbeat and have them do all my bathroom fits at those prices.

I'd snatch their hands off... sounds like an excellent deal for the amount of work they are going to be doing....

I can't believe you are querying whether this price is reasonable or not.:exclamati It's bargain basement price & if they are good you have stumbled onto a rare species in the world of plumbing & electricals :rotfl:
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

It's too cheap, theres no such thing as waterproof plasterboard, there's moisture resistant plasterboard which is a whole world different. The shower should be built from Tile backer board i.e. Aquapanel and ideally tanked.

Is he earth bonding all the pipework? A legal requirement.

Is He part P registered and providing you with a certificate for the electrical work? again a legal requirement.

Moisture resistant chipboard is not suitable for ceramic or porcelain type tiles, existing flooring should be reinforced with a minimum 12mm WBP plywood screwed down.

Seems to cheap to me, my advice would be to pay in stages and not upfront.

We have just had a new bathroom suite installed, we bought our own suite.

We got a plumber in his charge was £350 and a bit extra added on for a few bits of pipes that he needed.

He was a jem, he put all my pipes under the floor boards, looks great now with no pipes showing.

he did other bits of jobs for me in the bathroom.

total price came in at £450 he showed me receipts for the piping he bought.

Tiler cost £300 to do 4 walls and bath side.

Didn't need an electrician just replaced old shower and got a good dad.

    This is it before.

    And after.

I'm real pleased with it. And no the pipes were not hidden behind boards, they were buried under the floor. Oh and we were just waiting for the radiator to be put back on.
